Best Of: Summer 2013

Fall is upon us and summer is (long) gone. I've been busy the past few months exploring new locations for my recent show, Night Shade, which took place at the beautiful Old Felicity Church in the Lower Garden District in October (photos to come).  I was able to capture some very beautiful scenes on some of these summer outings, and I'd like to share my favorites:

    Bayou exploring.

Reminds me of a Tom Petty song out on Lake Pontchartrain this afternoon.

Audubon Park Trees in sleepless light.

First, I thought this tree was a tangled mess of a self but on further inspection I realize he is just trying to get his heart right.

Tulane Freshmen Class of 2017. I gave them a photo/art tour of New Orleans, CBD. First we discovered why the sky is blue then I told them the meaning of this statue. Let's just say their minds were blown.

History adds to the colorful character but can sometimes make the climb treacherous.

I was driving home and saw this house on fire, Uptown New Orleans on S. Saratoga.

Night work makes for strange colleagues.

Last night's sky would not stop. I couldn't resist a bridge shot with all that drama. The police stopped me from shooting at water level off a barge but I'll be back via kayak.

The pasts' view of work, the future's view of condo living. Present company: photographers, vagrants and vandals.

It's just another Friday night on the bayou.

I felt bad until I awoke in a field of black and gold.

Last night, across the cemetery wall a yellow crowned night heron patiently provided ornamentation.

White cat with red door.

Not so super "Supermoon" situated among cypress. With all the recent media hype, Mr. Supermoon got over eager and started rising before the sun had set, greatly mitigating the fullness of his superiority. Crestfallen crowds luckily were able to utilize Instagram autocontrast and darkening filters to augment this disappointing reality. Nature Chokes.

Last night, the bayou's waters were contaminated by sky.

Morning called, City Park.

There is a white chair next to a red door.

The waters of Bayou St John held almost mirror still for my commissioned photo shoot of this home.

New Orleans Bayou morning.

Cue Story and Good Company

Here's a story on Kyle and Patricia's art filled home, I get a mention in the good creative company of Tony Nozero. If you are wondering where to find Tony he is painting in his Bywater studio, he is not putting sheet rock on his walls he is putting paint on the canvas.

We rolled on the ground, we chased the chicken, we...

mud danced to the fiddle, we climbed the field of haystack hills, we ate the magic gumbo of the Cajun mardi GRAS.
Thank you to all the Villians.
